Commercial Description:
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Come nice caramel, toffee and dark fruit flavours, but a bit one dimensional

Growler. Well, I really liked this beer. Pours a rich, amber-red with a strong, white head. Nice, hoppy aroma with strong pine notes. Some detectable malts on the nose. Flavor is big, cocky blend of elements. Heavy on the hops, this beer rings with citrus and piney, resiney flavors. Underneath, some good, earthy malts give the brew some considerable depth. Slight bread flavor adds to the medium to large body. Lingering, mildy bitter aftertaste. A great session ale for heavy drinkers.

This is one of my absolute favorite beers. I first drank it in a fisherman’s bar in Alaska. There is no doubt about it.... this was my gateway beer, it sent me in search of other true "craft" brews. A: A nice mahogany red in color. Big thick 3 finger head at the initial pour. There is nice lacing left behind as I pounded this one. S: Very nice and hoppy. There is definite pine and citrus with hints of caramel and molasses. T: This is where this beer shines. At first swallow I taste the pine, very resiny. Then the hops come on the scene. It finishes very malty bready almost with the taste of hops still lingering. Perfectly Balanced. M: Medium bodied and ever so smooth and creamy.

Amazing beer. SImply the best thing I’ve had from Stone. It’s like an IPA on steroids. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes this style of beer.

Slightly reddish brown color in the glass. Aromas smell faintly of citrus fruit. This is a pretty hoppy beer on the palate, I agree with the bottle description of "aggressive hops". Definitely a well-made brew though.

Enough malt flavor to carry the bitterness. Held head throughout glass. Carbonation was fizzy and the hops flavor and bitterness had a long finish.

Not one of my favorites as I’m not drawn in by the overly hoppy. Surprised its a 99. Solid ale though.

22oz bottle 11/26/09-Pours an orangish amber with a small covering for a head. Aroma of alcohol, plums, malt, caramel, and slight hops. Taste of the same with more hops and sweetness coming through in the taste. This full bodied brew is very smooth and balanced. Nice job.
