Commercial Description:
Cask; Seasonal - April and May. Has previously appeared at other times of year.
Challenger hops give a good bitter flavour and hoppy aroma to the golden, light, refreshing beer.

Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes. Gold. Fairly indeterminate aroma, possibly hoppy, but it was rather too well chilled and I couldn’t hand around to see what developed as I only had 15 minutes on the parking meter. Refreshing fruitiness in the taste, quite summery, with some biscuit. Slight sourness and a little flinty bitterness. Decent enough quencher.

Cask in the alfred herring. Aroma is pale malts, floural leafy and citrus hops, slight sulphur notes. Taste is a good mix of pale malts and leafy british hop. In good condition too.

<I.Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Amber with a thin off-white head; gainy aroma; rather thin with orange fruit and doughy grain flavours; slightly dry orange rind finish. Rather average.

Cask@WetherspoonChepstow. Rather floral aroma. Yellow color, white fine head, good lace. Light sweet, bitter, floral, citrus, light bodied. Refreshing and flavorful.

Cask-conditioned at the King of Wessex (JDW), Bath 17/7/08. Golden coloured with a slight, white head. Grainy, yeast and dry fruit aroma. Flavour was tart, like dry cider without the apples, giving rise to strangeness all round. One was quite enough.

Handpulled cask at JDW Watford. Pale blonde with a weak white head. Soft malt and a hint of salt. Not much at all in the hopping department. Refreshing but very uninteresting.

Cask at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford I was quite taken with this and had a couple of pints. Reddish brown in colour with some really nice malt fruit flavours going on, a bit of raspberry and strawberry with a hint of caramel. Finish had some hops to balance. Very nice
