The most interesting aspect with these four beers experiment is the fact that they are all made identical. The only difference is the type of yeast. The beer itself is a commercial lager and not very interesting itself. You have to dive deep inside the glass (and yourself) to search for greater variations. All of them are golden pale with a small head. This one is brewed with ale yeast ant therefore the one I was expecting most from. But I have to say I was disappointed. Little aroma, neutral bitterness, almost the same as 111. The main difference here is actually lower carbonation. A fun experience, but I really believe this would be much funnier with more characteristic beers. gunnfryd (3615), Kristiansand, Norway

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Mar 5, 2006 Can. The last of the Asahi "yeast experiment", this one being brewed with ale yeast. Like the three lager beers, it is pale golden, but it has almost no head and low carbonation. The aroma is very short, with malt, hops and some wet cardboard. The flavor is malty and has a apple-note. It is a interesting experiment, making four beers with the yeast being the only difference in the recipt, but maybe it would be more interesting doing the same with a more interesting beer? | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Nov 1, 2005 Small, normal-laced head over clear copper body. Aroma is nearly non-existent. Taste is likewise extremely light, before some slight bitterness and hop aroma emerges in the aftertaste. Well, this has to win the prize for least-tasting beer ever. The beers are numbered with the strain of yeast used to make them. They’re all "Premium Lagers" with 5% ABV. Here’s a link http://www.asahibeer.co.jp/products/beer/koubonumb I did a side by side with the four of these. None were really noteworthy, in fact they were all rather similar being clear light -medium Gold with a small white head. My least favorite of the four. Had a sweet scent but also a metallic tinge to it that was very distracting.
