| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Sep 17, 2009 I found this beer surprisingly disappointing. Maybe, it’s an issue of age or something. At any rate, the beer pours a straw yellow color, a shade darker than other Japanese lagers, with a puffy white head. The head dissipates rather quickly, leaving some lacing. The shade of yellow is a bit strange, but perhaps that’s just my opinion on the flavor/aroma of the beer coloring (pun) my feelings on the appearance. The odor is light but still off-putting. It’s on the weak end of the spectrum of macro lager aromas but definitely not the bottom of the barrel. The flavor is a mix of bitter, grassy hops, cheap super pale malt plus adjuncts (rice, I guess) and a mildly stomach-turning sourness. The mouthfeel is light with some graininess. Drinkability isn’t horrible, either, but it’s certainly nothing to write home about. It’s light and sits easily, but I don’t think that I could finish this enormous can by myself unless I was fairly drunk and not really noticing the flavor. Nik925 (305), California, USA

The last pale lager I had from my beers of the world pack (Quilmes Cristal) was kinda tasty, this is crap. No barley or hop taste...like water + a dash of vodka that they soaked some corn in. This should have stayed in Japan, err, Canada. Hopper (330), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 0.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Sep 4, 2009 As boring as a beer can get. I find it hard to give this beer any points. I struggle to give it something. This reminds me of when I did not know there where so many beers out there that were good & I really did not care for drinking because of this stuff. zdk (249), New York, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 29, 2009 Bottle: some deli in China town, Manhattan. Pours amber, no head. accidentally served from too long in the freezer... I didn’t know beer could form ice. Has a light simple profile, the rice is obvious. Dry but not bitter. Not the best asian beer I’ve had. dkachur (2413), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 26, 2009 12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear pale golden with a thin head. Fair head retention and lacing. Sweet grainy aroma with strong corn notes. Bitter grassy taste with strong rice notes as well as corn and grain. Thin bodied. heavy (852), Split, Croatia
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 26, 2009 0.33 l bottle courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks for sharing! It poured pale golden body with medium sized head. Some Asian malt and grassy hops in aroma. Flavor wasn’t really bitter, it was smooth, malty and not so typical Asian for me, as I didn’t felt any rice, just hay, honey malt. Pretty thin bodied. Aftertaste shows some hops then, metallic a bit as well. Not bad and very drinkable beer, but a bit boring. Doggythedog (1597), Split, Croatia
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 24, 2009 0.33l bottle courtesy of some friends who brought it from Rome (huge thanks!), says it’s brewed in Tokyo. Ok then. Hm, poured a pale golden body with medium sized head that went away fast. Sweaty nose with notes of alcohol, rice... slightly sweetish mess all in all. The taste is quite soft and sweetish, some bready corn, rice is also evident. Some light bite, trace herbal hopiness. Yay. A typical Asian lager, as others have said, unremarkable.
