Heavy dark malt and black cherries in the aroma. A whiff of alcohol amidst a wave of cream gives it the smell of a hot toddy. Very full in the mouth, thick and milky. Well roasted and full of strong coffee flavour. A hint of metal there too and an airy alcoholic burn aswell. Sweet but with a salty finish. Intense. wheresthepath (549), Buckinghamshire, England

Pitch black with a loose brown head and no carbonation. Smooth, thick, oily texture. Aroma and initial flavour of coffee and sweet treacle, with some dry smoke, plums and earth developing. Sweet with a very sticky finish. It’s OK, but for this ABV I’d expect more intense flavours, and it definitely needs something to cut through the syrupiness. berkshirejohn (1830), Bracknell, Berkshire, England

Opaque dark coffee in colour with a ring of head with dark and light coffee highlights; rich deep aroma of coffee and treacle; complex flavour with sweet figs, bitter chocolate and strong coffee all mingling together very well; the finish is light and sweet with well hidden alcohol, and ultimately warming. Excellent.
