Body seems a bit thin with again roasted malts, but lacking in depth to make it good. imdownthepub (5184), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

This is a decent bottled ale, malty with a touch of toffee caramel. Enough flavour, with a waft of dark roast and a distant hop. A touch thin maybe, but drinkable all the same. chriso (4852), London, Greater London, England

Very bready, toasty malt aroma. Dry malt flavour. Very dry, in fact. Flinty, mineral mouthfeel. Nutty nuances. Not bad but doesn’t deliver a knockout punch.

June 2006 I will occasionally slip a bottle or two of this into the trolley when shopping in Asda. For a force carbonated, pasteurised and filtered beer, this is actually very drinkable and very pleasant. Boiled barley sugar and Irn Bru. Kids stuff. Lovely. [3.2]
September 2007 They are almost giving this away at Asda - just over a quid a bottle. Easy drinking stuff which lacks character, but is pleasant enough and fairly tasty in a simple mild toffee, gentle hop and creamy carbonation way. [2.8] Fin (3478), Merton, Oxfordshire, England
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 23, 2006 Bottle, Picked up by friend in Asda 22-09-06. Standard brown beer with busy white head, not much of an aroma. Malty, caramelly tasting beer not one that particularly tickled my tastebuds but fine enough. hughie (3084), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 28, 2005 Amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma promises malt but the taste was disappointingly watery with just a hint of caramel, and the bitter finish was dominant.
