Deep dark brown with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of nuts, caramel, toffee and a little fruit. Sweet toffee flavour with a medium roasted note and a hint of charcoal in the finish.

Bottle from Asda, Scunthorpe. Deep red black, lasting fluffy beige head and moderate condition. Gentle fruity berries and roast barley with a vague tartness in the nose, slightly buttery in the mouth with a building roasted coffee bitterness and gentle fruitiness, lingering muted coffee bitterness in the finish.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is toffee, some earth, mild caramel, wooden and quite flowery hoppy notes. Flavour is quite the same. Also some nutty and chocolateish notes.

Bottled (at Chriso, BB 07/2010). Dark nut brown, steady creamy beige head. Dark wood, some dark malts in the nose. Light coffee, some mentol-fruity hops, roasted. Toasted finish. This is also very Shep Neamish. Not bad, but not the most interesting English-style Porter either.
