So close to that perfect northern ale, Icannot believe it’s an ASDA bottle. Well done asda and well done WHitechapel beervis (223), People’s Republic of Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, England

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 7, 2007 Updated: Jan 15, 2007I am not a huge fan of Porters and, having sampled Shepherd Neame’s winter 2006/7 Porter, I did not have high hopes for this little number. However, I was amazed in that I loved this little beauty. Guinness black in colour, malty and bitter in taste (but lacks the sweetness of other Porters, which suits me). A good effort for a cheap, ale from Asda. Gethinbeer (1006), Nova Scotia, Canada

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2006 Poured a dark mahogany colour with a thick caramel coloured head; typical chocolate malt aroma; sweet at first but balanced with a bittterness like that found in dark chocolate or cinder toffee. Satisfying but not outstanding. Fin (3466), Merton, Oxfordshire, England
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2006 Bottle 500ml. Dark brown with slight hint of red, off white head some dark chocolate aromas which also were in the flavour some roastiness there with malts prevalent, this was’nt bad just nothing earth shattering.
