I can’t say much about the aroma. I have difficulty picking out the aroma of beers in restaurant/bars. I did notice some cocoa though. The taste of of cocoa, oatmeal, coffee, and some roasty notes. The finish made the cocoa burst a little more. This was decent. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Pours a very dark brown, with a medium, foamy light brown head. A light chocolate aroma fills the air, with some dark malts and extremely light roasty smells as well. The flavor was pretty big on the roast, some dark chocolate, with a full bodied palate. Pretty good porter, nice flavor, with pretty much no bitterness in the aftertaste. More chocolatey than anything, which is fine by me. tronraner (1933), Seymour, Tennessee, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 18, 2007 Updated: Mar 13, 2009Draft at pub. Opaque brown-black with a lasting head and nice lace. Cocoa, charred wood and espresso on the nose. Flavors of peppery oak, cocoa, molasses and some sourish notes as well. Light-medium body is chuggably watery and smoothly carbonated. Very true to the style. Rerated with a bomber bottle, upgraded from 3.6 to 3.7. Very nice inexpensive porter, similar to Sierra Nevada, but thinner. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 25, 2007 Had at Summertime Brews Festival. Dark brown, a tad transparent. Not dark enough to be goon against the standard. The head was tan. The aroma was sweet, had some chocolate and caramel. Pretty much sweet single dimensional sweet. Good porter, nice to have at the festival. Suttree (2740), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 23, 2007 Reddish brown, nice fluffy head. Clean, crisp, toasty aromas, smooth palate, coffee flavors and a dryish finish. Perhaps a touch of honey? Sampled at 2007 Hickory Hops. Earlier Rating: 11/1/2004 Total Score: 3.3 Reddish Brown, thin tan head. Pronounced burnt toast aroma. Rich mouthfeel, maybe too much so - actually feels a little "fat", if you know what I mean. Coffee, earthy flavors, and then a watery finish. Some nice strong points, but doen’t fit together well. Sampled at 2004 Asheville Brewgrass Festival. jcwattsrugger (5563), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
