thechandler (214), West Virginia, USA Jun 18, 2008 After having the Marz Zen, I was pretty iffy about trying other Asheville products, but I figured I’d might as well. Pour was a dark brown. Aroma was a bit nutty, but not much. Flavor was interesting. Smooth and nuttty. Good malt flavor. Much more like a brown ale than a porter. Pretty good. Glad I gave them another shot at least.

Not a great porter, but palatable. Would be better if it didn’t seem so watery. Poured clear brown color with medium off-white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium roasted coffee aroma. Medium to full body with a flat carbonation. Poured a dark brown with a thin brown head. Aroma of coffee. Flavor was bitter chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. Bitter, dry finish. BeerHawk (801), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Oct 21, 2008 Sampled at the 2008 Knoxville Brewers’ Jam. Soda brown in the glass with a creamy tan head that left some lacing. Roasty malt aroma. The flavor has chocolate malts with a hint of coffee. Medium body and sweet throughout.
