Commercial Description:
A very distinctive pale ale, this beer is 100% home-grown in the Western North Carolina mountains. A sweet front end belies the fresh English hops for a very earthy aroma & flavor. Just like Asheville, it plants a seed in your soul that stays with you for life.

on tap-pours an off white head that laces and gold color. Aroma is mild sweet medium malt, sweet citrus. Taste is citrus rinds-orange/grapefruit hops, secondary light/medium malt. Some detractors.

Bomber brought back from NC trip. Pours a copper orange mostly clear with an ok head. Aroma is DMS with corn and green veges, light crackery caramel and toffee notes with slight stale hops- green, slight orange citrus. Flavor is more bland crackery malts, stale old hops- earth, toffee, leather and stale. Finish is lightly bittter and pretty weak. Meh.

Source: 22 oz bottle from my brother for my birthday.
Glass: Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass.
Appearance: Clear dark gold pour with a one finger white head that left a lot of lacing.
Aroma: Strong vegetal aromas with hints of earth and caramel.
Flavor: Medicinal and vegetal. Not great.
Palate: Medium body with solid carbonation.
Overall: Very unimpressive.

Bomber on 5/15/09. Slightly hazy, tawny gold with a medium white head. Some light grain and fruit up front and fainlty earthy hops. Medium body and carbonation, fairly dry palate. Balance between a toffee sweetness and light peppery bitterness results in a pleasant enough flavor. Fairly run of the mill, but a good session type beer.

Bottle. Shared by paul. Pours an orange amber body with a white head. Grainy, dry husky with a floral and earthy aroma and a slightly nutty finish. not bad.
