Commercial Description:
A very distinctive pale ale, this beer is 100% home-grown in the Western North Carolina mountains. A sweet front end belies the fresh English hops for a very earthy aroma & flavor. Just like Asheville, it plants a seed in your soul that stays with you for life.

on tap-pours an off white head that laces and gold color. Aroma is mild sweet medium malt, sweet citrus. Taste is citrus rinds-orange/grapefruit hops, secondary light/medium malt. Some detractors.

Bomber brought back from NC trip. Pours a copper orange mostly clear with an ok head. Aroma is DMS with corn and green veges, light crackery caramel and toffee notes with slight stale hops- green, slight orange citrus. Flavor is more bland crackery malts, stale old hops- earth, toffee, leather and stale. Finish is lightly bittter and pretty weak. Meh.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a golden body and a small off-white head. Aroma is slightly fruity with caramel and a bit of faded hops. Taste is caramel with light hops. Very forgettable (no "seed planted in my soul"). Light carbonation.

Clear orangey gold, loose foamy head. Crisp, mellow hop aroma. Very dry and bitter, with a bracing hop bite over an understated, earthy malt base. Simple and tasty. Goes good with -wait for it - Pizza.

On tap @ Asheville Pizza. Light amber color, white head. Deep toast flavor with a hint of butter. Earthy with a bit of sweetness, butterscotch. Well balanced. Biscuit notes. Aroma of buttered popcorn. Never a pleasant scent in a beer...Unless we’re talkin traditional Ales. English Style Pales? Then I guess it’s OK. This is OK.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub. Pours a light amber color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, pineapple, citrus and a tart note. Taste is caramel, butterscotch, light fruits and a strong hop finish. Medium bodied.
