Commercial Description:
A very distinctive pale ale, this beer is 100% home-grown in the Western North Carolina mountains. A sweet front end belies the fresh English hops for a very earthy aroma & flavor. Just like Asheville, it plants a seed in your soul that stays with you for life.

Serving: Draft. Appearance: Pale orange with a foamy, white head. Good head retention and great lacing. Aroma: Light floral nose with biscuit notes. Very mild. Taste: Caramel malt, a hint of wood, butter, and a nice bitter balance. Palate: Medium-low carbonation with a medium mouthfeel and a medium, bitter finish. Overall: A pretty good brew with some nice English character. Very sessionable. Rebuy: Yes.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Light amber pour with a thin egg white head. Nose of sweet hops and some fruity malts. Nice grapefruity flavor with some nice malts in the finish.

22 oz bottle generously sent to me by Suttree. Pour is a hazy yellow golden, with a frothy loose 2 inch off white head. Some lacing left on the glass as the froth falls. Aroma of soft toasty malt and citrus floral hops, which are also soft and subdued. Taste is a nice balance between the malt and the hop of the nose, nice citrus brightness and ever so mild dry bitterness to the finish. A nice mineral earthiness is in the aftertaste. Palate is thin to medium clean and drinkable. Thanks Phil, this was a nice one.

Clear orangey gold, loose foamy head. Crisp, mellow hop aroma. Very dry and bitter, with a bracing hop bite over an understated, earthy malt base. Simple and tasty. Goes good with -wait for it - Pizza.

On tap @ Asheville Pizza. Light amber color, white head. Deep toast flavor with a hint of butter. Earthy with a bit of sweetness, butterscotch. Well balanced. Biscuit notes. Aroma of buttered popcorn. Never a pleasant scent in a beer...Unless we’re talkin traditional Ales. English Style Pales? Then I guess it’s OK. This is OK.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub. Pours a light amber color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, pineapple, citrus and a tart note. Taste is caramel, butterscotch, light fruits and a strong hop finish. Medium bodied.
