| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 3, 2008 This APA pours a light gold color from the tap at the brewpub. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is slightly bready some malt and hops. A medium to light bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are slightly citrusy. More of a mild English Pale Ale. Nice finish, but nowhere bitter enough for an APA, let alone an IPA. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 30, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Attractive hazy orange color with thick foamy head that laced the glass. Delicious floral/citrusy hop aroma. Hop flavor is dominant with a soft malty caramel flavor in the backround. Bitter hop finish with a nice cereal grain aftertaste. Very good. SledgeJr (3003), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2005 On tap at the brewpub. This one is now called "Red Light IPA." This is darker in color than the Shiva IPA as it is amber. Also, a bit maltier than the Shiva with much more of a robust bitter finish. Good boiling hop content. Only drawback is a slight grainy flavor. Delicious! Suttree (2743), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 2, 2006 Updated: Jan 7, 2006Red, as the name implies. But not particularly light, so I suppose that portion of the name is a bit of a misnomer. Also kinda cloudy, which isn’t even addressed in name. If you want, you could call it "Red Cloud IPA" and be much more accurate. Anyway, smells kind of peppery and citrusy, with a hint of cedar. Stoney, piney hops dominate the flavor, with just a hint of cereal maltiness as well as a touch of caramel. Very tasty brew. ChainGangGuy (2616), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 24, 2007 Appearance: Pours a hazy, reddish-copper body with a decent off-white head.
Smell: A middling caramel maltiness to the aroma, but it has a decent aromatic bite of floral, piney hops.
Taste: Caramel malt flavor with reserved sweetness upfront soon gives way to a lasting floral, piney hop character and a sensible level of bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: An upright IPA. unclemattie (2441), Georgia, USA
