The aroma is bready and malty, touch of hops. A medium bodied ESB. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are earthy and floral, but kind of subdued. Could use a little more bitterness. Nice carbonation. Good balance. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA

Detectable bitterness throughout, could have used a bit more maltiness, but decent. A great beer with the pizza. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 17, 2007 Draft at APBC. Copper/red body with a thin white head, good retention. Aroma is caramel malt and mellow PNW and Fuggles hops, slight corn character mingling with the citrus. Flavor is sweet bready malts and sturdy hops, light but forward. Slight acidity and caramel in the well rounded finish. Very creamy palate and incredibly drinkable, this beer should be a contender in any competition. Not too similar to most ESB’s I’ve encountered, but very well done and worth the drive here if only to sample this beer. GeneralGao (3057), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
