Jmichael (584), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Aug 8, 2007 pours a clear amber with off tan head. mildly sweet with a bitter finish. pretty good with the pizza and a movie. fun stuff.
beerguy101 (3489), Newark, California, USA Jun 3, 2008 This ESB pours a medium copper color from the tap at the brewpub. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is bready and malty, touch of hops. A medium bodied ESB. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are earthy and floral, but kind of subdued. Could use a little more bitterness. Nice carbonation. Good balance. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Jan 23, 2008 Not bad, not exemplary but a very drinkable bitter. Detectable bitterness throughout, could have used a bit more maltiness, but decent. A great beer with the pizza. DragonStout (1185), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 30, 2007 Sampled at ABC.Poured an amber color with a hop aroma. Flavor was hop bitterness with some cereal. Finish was crisp and bitter. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Name: Rolands Red ESB

dark amber, frothy beige head, good lace, good sweet carmel malt aroma with nice hops to balance, low bitterness leading to a nice finish, bigger carmel sweetness than the typical esb but it makes for a great drinking beer
