alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Nov 7, 2009 22 oz. bottle purchased at the Greenlife Grocery. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. The aroma had pine and citrus hops, earthy, and grass. The flavor opened with some bitterness that faded and finished on a sweeter note. Citrus, bready and caramel malts, grassy but a little light. This was just OK. Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Sep 30, 2009 GABF 2009, day 1: Decent IPA. Didn’t blow me away, but it was better than some of the other IPAs I sampled. Malts had a nice level of caramel flavor. Flowery hops. Balanced bitterness. Elwood (654), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Aug 31, 2009 Serving: Draft.
Appearance: Pale orange with a foamy, white head. This one left great lacing.
Aroma: Lots of pine hops and light citrus notes, particularly grapefruit. Low malt profile.
Taste: Grapefruit and citrus bitterness, a litte bread, citrus pith, and light caramel notes.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium-light mouthfeel. Long, bitter finish.
Overall: A little light in body, but still pretty decent overall.
Rebuy: Perhaps. phaleslu (423), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 26, 2009 1 pint, 6 oz. bottle from Bruisin’ Ales in Asheville. Pours clear gold with big, frothy white head that laces the glass. Aroma of hops, grain, citrus, yeast, malt. Flavor of hops, citrus, grains, malt, and also some chemical taste that threw me off. Bitter, with a light body. Quick, dry finish. I think this is a better beer than what I experienced but I blame myself for hanging onto it too long and letting it pass its prime. I’m guessing I would like this better with a fresher bottle. italianjohn (337), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2009 Pours a pale golden color with white head and some lacing ... malty sweet then nice hoppy floral taste fruity grapefruit and a nice bitter hop dry finish a good simple ipa jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Aug 7, 2009 Hazy golden orange in color with a medium sized white head. Aroma is of grain, perfume, and citrus. Taste is of hops, pine, lysol kitchen spray, watery and light dirt. holdenn (1431), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 4, 2009 Bottle thanks to Devon for sharing. Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Citrus, grapefruit, oranges, yeast and spice in the aroma. Light citrus malts with herbal hop flavors and bitterness that is drying and somewhat cloying. All around ok. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Jul 31, 2009 Bomber from Steph’s parents. Slightly hazy orange with medium to large, creamy white head. Aroma is big hops of pine and citrus, a little earthiness and grapefruit, fairly fresh smelling with dry caramel but very hop forward. Flavor is off-dry caramel with pine, citrus, some spiceness and very floral with big grapefruit notes and slightly resiny. Medium to light, creamy body with active carbonation. Overall very nice but a the hops seem to be a little bit of punch you in the face.
