On cask 1/26/08 at the Atlanta Cask Ale tasting: Transparent dark copper brown with a thin, airy off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, butterscotch and vanilla with some mild bourbon character. Starts fairly full and dark caramely sweet with a touch of oak and good bourbon balance. Has some mild butterscotch notes, likely a result of the barrel-aging. Has decent complexity and drinkability.

Cask ale festival ’08. Tasty vanilla and roasted malt flavors. The maple syrup sweetness is faint but noticeable. Also a pretty nice touch as it adds a different sort of sweetness to beer. Aromas of nuts and wood.

Cask @ ATL Cask Ale Fest ’08. Minimal bourbon aroma and taste. Not a fan of this at all. Below average.

This was a bit lighter in flavor than I was expecting. It’s still not overwhelmed by the bourbon from the barrel, but there’s not as much complexity to the flavor as I was expecting.

Cask from Atlanta Cask Ale Fest. Aroma of bourbon and oak. Taste is very nice with vanilla, bourbon, and malt. Very smooth bourbon finish. A very nice brew.
