Commercial Description:
Stone Brewing is century old brewing technique revived to create this distinctive and flavorful light bodied beer. Intensely heated Irish stone (700 deg.) are gently lowered into the boiling brew kettle, super heating (for lighter body) the wort and caramelizing some natural malt sugars (for full flavor).

Thanks to beeryum for this one. Pours canary with two-finger white head. Aroma of malt, some hopcit, some lemon. Tastes citrusy, with some finishing hops and tart dryness. Somewhat light palate, but refreshing.

Golden yellow and highly active. Nice sticky bright wide head. No aroma, really. Flavor is at first a full-on starch, then settles into hints of skunky lemon grass. Disappoints.

For an Ale, it’s pretty damn light. For a light beer, it’s not bad at all. Taste is light with some corn flavor. Had a raw wood taste like a popsicle stick. Some light bitterness which may be citrus or grass.

Had on tap at the Brewpub on Concourse T in the Atlanta Airport. Listed as the "Brewmaster's Special". Dark yellow in appearance, had a funky aroma - not unlike stale feet. Had just a tad bit of lacing. Tastes a bit like a worn out raspberry wheat. Hops come through in the aftertaste with a bit too much carbonation. Mouthfeel - very creamy - salvaging grace for this one.

On tap at the Red Brick Tavern in Hartsfield Airport. Buttery gold colored beer with a bigger than life head! Great lacing. Simply no aroma as far as I can detect. A little more malt body than mega light beers. Flavor of all malt and no burning side adjuncts. Nice hop residual flavor on the tongue when you are done. I suppose that if I had known about the hot rock deal, I would have expected this ale to be even darker from the caramelization. In terms of calories, this is most likely NOT a light beer. In my world however, the term "light beer" should be used to describe this style.

Kind of plain, like it had been sitting in a wood cask. A slight bit of apple, with a off balance taste, extremely malty finish.

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with goldtwins, thanks Larry!) Kind of a lemony citrusy light beer, so at least this isn’t a flavorless bottle of water-like substance. Aside from the tart, lemon citrus, and a mild bitterness in the finish, there isn’t much else in the flavor. Mostly a citrusy nose as well. Light bodied, and with the tartness, it’s pretty clean and refreshing. It pours a cloudy, medium straw color that is topped by an explosive, white head that rises to over two inches and requires several pours to empty the bottle. It settles in a rocky fashion, maintaining a very foamy layer atop the beer, leaving globs of foam on the glass. Nope, don’t like it.

I expected a lot more caramel/burnt sugar malt flavors - I mean if they threw super hot rocks in the kettle...(and I have had 1 or 2 others made this way that had a big caramel flavor). So, anyway, we'll just set that aside for the moment. Poured a medium golden color with small head and minimal lacing. I will say this - the palate was thicker than the color would have me believe. Taste was not all that bad - lots of sweetness (hints of green apple - i always like that, even if some would consider it a flaw). Very little hop presence and overly "fizzy". Not a horrible light ale (shoot, i would have guessed it was a lager).
