Commercial Description:
A light fruit ale, made with Maine wild blueberries. As opposed to many of the sweeter fruit beers on the market, our addition of fresh Maine wild blueberries in this light ale yields a subtle blueberry aroma, without the sweet aftertaste. A mixture of the following Mutton malts, pale, crystal, and Munich, are combined with wheat to give this ale its lighter body, and we only use minimal amounts of Target and Willamette hops.

From start to finsih, this is a world class beer. I have rated many more than 26 beers, but I have only made time to rate 26 online. In other words, I know more about beer than it may appear. TRY THIS ONE!! It has a a pale amber color with a lasting, yet thin, off-white head. The aroma is not blueberry syrup like some other beer of this stle, but of fresh fruit, blended beautifully with some caramel, and slight hop spice notes. Flavor is great. No syrupy sugar sweetness from some other poor quality fruit beers. This is of fresh blueberries again blended with a caramelly, slightly roasted malt/nutty note. Feels a bit light but is smooth yet not flat on the tongue. The finish is of hop bitterness and fresh blueberries NOT BLUEBERRY SYRUP. Another great blueberry beer is at Gilded Otter Brewpub in New Paltz, NY, but only seasonal on tap. This one is bottled. Enjoy!!!!!!!

Bottle. Pours a hazy brown amber with a large creamy beige head. Large blueberry and a touch of vanilla. Medium bodied, lightly sweet and a touch of malt and wheat. Weird aspartame sweetness on the finish.

nice, crispy blueberry aroma, but the flavor is just a cool crisp malt. Slight sting of blueberry, but it may just be a little hop presence that I’m mistaking for blueberries. Makes it feel a tiny bit sour. Not that exciting. Bottle from Total Wine and More, Naples, Florida.

Bottle. Pours amber-brown with a large head. Aroma is of malts and blueberry. Flavor is slightly blueberry with some malt present as well. The blueberry is not overpowering, but blends in nicely to make a pretty good beer.

Impressive three-finger head that lasts a long time and recedes in a rocky fashion. Dark amber color and cloudy (with some yeast clusters floating around). Strong sour blueberry aroma. Smells like blueberry pie but made without any sugar. Very sour taste. Were the blueberries unripened? Not very complex. The aftertaste is shortlived. The mouthfeel is okay. Overall, this is a clear miss.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. Appearance: Deep copper color with a small, white head. Spotty lacing left behind. Aroma: Light blueberry nose with touches of malt. Flavor: Slight metallic note, honey, blueberry, and light malt notes. The blueberry is very well done. Subtle and not overpowering like some others. Palate: Medium-high carbonation with a light mouthfeel and and a medium, blueberry finish. Overall: It can be hard to make a good fruit beer that maintains a fruit flavor without being overpowering. Atlantic Brewing has done it well with this one.

This is one of those good fruit beers which makes me keep trying the style (even though there are a lot of cough-syrupy dogs out there). A very nice fruit ale - a balanced aroma of blueberries, with a natural, clear tartness and flavor but not overly sweet. Nice to have a fruit flavor in something with body - neither a spicy winter beer nor a light summer wheat.

Bottle. Aroma of blueberries all right - and grapes, and sugar. Looks maybe darker than you’d expect. Little head, and once it’s gone, nothing to remember it by. Flavor is honey, malty, more like blueberry cereal than actual blueberries. It’s too sweet, but inoffensive.

12oz bottle from Total Wine (Tampa, FL). Pours a generally clear dark amber color with thin white head that settles quickly and lightly laces the glass. Aroma is sweet and fruity with notes of blueberry, wheat, yeast, light floral esters, light honey. Flavor is sweet and fruity with more notes of blueberries, light hints of barnyard, floral esters, wheat, yeast, honey. Generally light to medium body with a fruity finish. Not bad.
