Commercial Description:
A good, clean nutbrown ale with a malty body. This is our most popular ale due to its smooth and malty flavor. We use a mixture of pale, crystal and black malts in this one, and our primary hop is Target, though we also add some Whitbread Goldings Variation as well. The Real Ale is best fresh, so fresh in fact, that it's great right out of the bright tank.

Pours a golden brown with a light tan head. The aroma is lighlty malty and the flavor is mild with some toffee sweetness and a touch of hops.

Pours from the bottle to a brownish red, with thin off-white head that dissipates very quickly, and leaves no lacing. flavor is malty toffe smell, although not very strong, and it wanes as the beer warms. Body seems very light for a brown ale, and the flavor is a malty-sweet nut taste. Palate is dry and syrupy...not a real fan of this beer.

Scored this at Total Wines in Jville. Leather brown pour with some red hints. Lots of malts and mild hops. Some faint coffee hints and a little licorice it seems. Nutty aftertaste. Far better than the run of the mill competition.....update. Is this a stout or a Brown Ale? You couldn’t tell it’s so good. I can’t believe this isn’t rrated higher.

Bottle - Poured a dark brown in color with a foamy light tan head that faded to a rim around the glass. Some lacing. Aroma is of nutty malts and hops. Flavor is malty, but not sweet. Some coffee and caramel. Finish is creamy and fairly long with a lingering bitterness. An OK brown ale, but only a little above average.

Dark brown color with light head. A very malty favor with a touch of nuttiness. Light carbonation and a bitter earthy aftertaste.

Nicely done enlgish style brown. It allows for a full range of malty notes- toffee, caramel, chocolate and pecans(?). Good earthy finish.

12 oz bottle. Brown beer with a thick tan head. Dusty but sweet aroma. Chocolate, cocoa and some really prominent earthy hops. Flavour/dusty and woody flavour. Very British tasting. Nuttiness and sweet toast. Lingering earthy and grassy flavours. Nutty and chocolatey. Pretty nice brown ale.
