| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 1/20 | May 26, 2005 Bottle at Andy’s. I guess a new arrival to NJ, but I think it should be kicked out. Clear, brownish head that fades. No lacing. This has a wierd cherry kriek aroma. Malty slightly tart flavor. Bad sharp aftertaste. Yuk! Infected? DYCSoccer17 (2200), Davis, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 15, 2005 Bottle. Roasted nice rich malty aroma with chocolate and caramel notes. Slightly sweet. Nice. Transparent amber color with light tan head that’s pretty small and quickly dissipating. Mildly metallic in the middle with chocolate roasted notes. A bit thin. Not bad transition beer. A small step up from Newcastle. beerandrugby (210), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 12, 2005 bottle. pours a nice very classic looking brown with a slight head that did diminish quickly. Aroma of actually, a little yeast. Not very complex, but good. A solid ale. nice slightly roasty malt, a little sweeter, with a hint of yeast. Not particularily hoppy. good beer, i enjoyed it. lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 9, 2005 Pours a deep mahogany with virtually no head. Very still. Smell is spicy but quite light. Not great aromas.
Taste is spicy and malty. I swear the first taste that comes to mind is spicy BBQ sauce. Nice body and fizzy with a light hop aftertaste. Medium bodies and tapers off at the end. I have always loved that this is Atlantic’s flagship beer. They didn’t make a pale ale or a light lager to sell to the tourists like many other Maine breweries. They made their signature beer a brown ale. Ballsy. Not the strongest brown ale I have tasted but complex and solid. Dark yet drinkable.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 7, 2005 This brew is a cherry cola color with a medium light tan head. Thin lacing that sticks to the glass pretty well. The aroma is very nutty, along with some malt and caramel. Thin at times and fairly smooth with a bit of a smoked character. Nutty and sweet malt flavor is decent but short-lived. Mildly hoppy finish. A decent session beer. hopdog (5608), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
