Commercial Description:
A good, clean nutbrown ale with a malty body. This is our most popular ale due to its smooth and malty flavor. We use a mixture of pale, crystal and black malts in this one, and our primary hop is Target, though we also add some Whitbread Goldings Variation as well. The Real Ale is best fresh, so fresh in fact, that it's great right out of the bright tank.

From a variety 12 pack from the grocery store: Im really curious about this beer, its a possiblity i got a bad batch of the brown. Poured a light brown colour with a reddish tint. Head is medium sized slightly frothy. This is where the beer gets me: Aroma is sour, like fermented apples, and cherries possilby. Taste is sour also, lemons, and green apples. not appealing in any way really, thats why im thinking it was a bad batch.

Bottle. medium hoppy aroma. Fresh citrus and bitter flavors. Finish was more malty than hoppy. Decent brew. Drinkable but not fantastic.

Crushed with Jakebra. Possibly the worst finish of all time. Smell is nothing to write home about, little roast. Flavor and finish is about as unpleasantly sour as it gets. This beer sucks. Almost pour-out-able according to Jakebra.

Light reddish brown with a thin off white head, slightly metallic sweet malt aroma. Some caramels and bitter chocolates. Taste are almost bock like, sweet chocolate, toffee, and light toasty or roasty malt and a hoppy bitter finish.

This beer was a bit underwhelming. Aroma seemed a bit husky at first. Some dark bitter roasted notes present throughout the beer. Flavor seemed a bit watery to me. Drinkable, but not too exciting.

Bottle. I have already mentioned several times that I am not a big brown ale fan. This was easily my fave brown ale to date.

Dark garnet and brown colored body with a light khaki head. The aroma was nice caramel and milk chocolate. Nice classic British smelling hops with hints of tea. The taste was light chocolate with some black tea notes. There was also some prune in the finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a reddish brown with a big head that doesn’t let me get more than about half of the bottle into a pint glass. Aromas have a bit of funkiness to them and leaves me wondering about infection. Flavor has a bit of earthy malt, acidic peat and maybe some nut to it... Finishes off with a bit of a sour edge that is a nice touch.
