Commercial Description:
A good, clean nutbrown ale with a malty body. This is our most popular ale due to its smooth and malty flavor. We use a mixture of pale, crystal and black malts in this one, and our primary hop is Target, though we also add some Whitbread Goldings Variation as well. The Real Ale is best fresh, so fresh in fact, that it's great right out of the bright tank.

A good nut brown. Strong roasted malt taste. Easy to drink, will try again.

This is a pretty decent nut brown. Clean and malty with a toasted toffee and creamy caramel structure. A bit on the dry side, with some earthy flavors coming through at times. I would drink this again.

Brown color, malty flavors. I was really suprised at the taste of roasted malt that shot out at me. Pleasant drink, would recommend.

Draught. Pours clear brown with slightly reddish highlights and a creamy off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma is roasty, nutty malt, earthy. Taste is nutty, roasted malt that gets nuttier towards the finish, rather dry and earthy. Palate is a weakness, rather thin and watery, but subdued carbonation works well. Overall, a very flavorful and drinkable beer - I suspect this one was quite fresh, since it was consumed in Bar Harbor Maine.

(Rating #1780)

Amber. Medium head, after it settled! Aroma of roasted nuts, caramel, earth. Flavor: Caramel, hazelnut, apple, a bit strong. Ends dry. I might have thought better of this beer if it had not exploded upon opening. I assume I got a bad bottle.

Amber-brown colour. Toasty, earthy nose with cocoa notes. Balanced earth and cocoa. A light hint of tartness late.
