Commercial Description:
Akin to a barley wine, we suggest this ale as an after dinner drink. It has a truly unique & sophisticated flavor due to the use of wildflower honey as the catalyst for the production of alcohol. We simply use pale malt and a very small amount of Target hops in this Belgian style ale. The bulk of the body, color and sweetness come from the 2,000 lbs. of honey we add to the boil. The Brother is cellared for up to a year before it is bottled, which helps to marry the flavors and create the complex palate in this Bragget.

My first mead. Reminds me of a mild BA beer. Aromas of sweet honey, fruit, and slight must. Taste of slight vanilla, alcohol. Finish is pretty quick and bitter. Very unique drink, not sure if this is my favorite alcoholic beverage though.

Bottle from TheBeerCellar. Thanks, man! The pour was dark straw goinbg toward copper with some big carbonation bubbles and a minimal whitish head. Aroma of heavy grainy malt, honey, and some peach/pear in heavy syrup. The taste was heavilly malty and honey based, with a smooth, well carbonated palate. Some fruit flavors (peach, apricot) were present, and the alcohol was fairly well hidden until it warmed up, when it made an increased presence. This one is unique, very interesting, and very enjoyable.

’98 bottle. Clear brown body. Very sweet flavor with a some sherry oxidation. Clover honey and sweet malt extract - decent but one-dimensional.

clear orange/amber with no head. aroma of white wine and whiskey. lots of woody whiskey and alcohol in flavor. dry finish. i’ve had only one other mead and it was completely different. this is bad. its tastes like a whiskey and water. hard to find the honey. apple juicey at times. maybe its too "green", but there is no production date. definitely not very complex. i really enjoyed my other mead experience, unfortunately not this time.

1998 vintage bomber. reddish earthy color no real head legs the glass a bit. Sweet aroma honies & sugars definate alcohol some light flower pedals and a touch of wheat. Palate is dry fairly avg decent coating. Flavor is some standard honey like you’d expect in a mead but w/ a bit of bad beer overtones barleys. Not very good.

’98 vintage received a a gift from a friend. Thanks Todd. Lightly hazed copper color with a few bubbles floating about. Real mead qualities with floral honey, caramel, light tropical fruit, and a touch of alcohol. Light malt and caramel flavors in the front, followed by a taste of floral apple blossom honey. Smooth and silky on the palate. Linger returns to some malt and a touch of rose petals. Really quite good, with little age showing.

1998 vintage bomber. The bragget pours to a copper colored body with not much head. The aroma has some yellow apples and honey. Flower petals, caramel, and nougat also make an appearance. The flavor is sweet apples, honey, malt, caramel. The palate has a moderate sweetness.

Dark orange-red translucent body with just a film of offwhite head. Smells sweet and malty more than anything else. Tastes sweet and alcoholic. Not really noticing any hops here. Fairly pleasant. Surprisingly drinkable considering the abv. Rather thin bodied though.
