Maybe a honey ale is supposed to lie there dead in the glass with no head. Maybe the flavor is supposed to be simple and unbalanced, with sweetness, bitternesss, and a tiny bit of malt but nothing to integrate them and tie them together. I have not had enough honey ales to know. But I surely did not care for this one. I had a glass, half a large bottle. I’ll pour the rest of the bottle down the sink. tbookman (618), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA

Sweet honey goodness was in there, but so was a lot of complexity, especially compared to other honey beers I can think of. Nice dark golden color with hints of malty sweetness in the aroma. The alcohol was barely noticable in the flavor, butthe overall flavor wasn’t as strong as I would expect for a barely winish ale, as that was what they caled it at the brewery. Anyway, a good drink. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA

Honey was present as would be expected, but found precious little else. Was hoping for I know not what - perhaps some exquisite dry quality imparted by the honey or a rare honey from the blosom of a flower known only to five people on the planet. Well, that didn’t happen. 3daddict (139), Portland, Maine, USA

It pours a clear copper with just a very small head. Honey, light malt and hop aroma and taste. Surprisingly light and not cloying. Recommended as an after dinner drink. The 11.8abv was unnoticed aside from the pleasant warming as it went down. Finishes clean and dry. Definitely reminds me more of a mead than beer but lighter to drink. Fun to try and will be revisited when wanting something a little different. HighlanderOne (546), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA

Great aroma, and I think the honey helps mask the alcohol, although you can definitely taste it. A teriffic sipping beer that I’d like to try again.
