Honey is the star all the way in this beverage. Some booze notes as well. Flavor is full of honey and caramel. Very interesting to say the least. tronraner (1938), Seymour, Tennessee, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 26, 2009 Just as suspected, this is not a 2.5% abv mead. What are you trying to pull stevo? Anyway, nice and tangy, mixed with expected honey notes. Not overly sweet and surprisingly drinkable. Sampled at Springslicker’s Fish Fry. chicagodri (1074), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Thin head which dissipates quickly. Sparse carbonation. Sweet caramel aroma with lots of butter, honey and all things sweet. Bit boozy on a deep inhale. Color is a translucent copper brown. Very sweet and alcoholic. Kind of flat in the mouth. Lots more butterscotch, caramel, sweet malts and honey. Big alcohol kick and warming. Little bit of lingering lavender and flowers. Not really what I have come to expect from meads but still decent. I do believe this is more in the barleywine style than a mead. A good brew either way. ElJefe (553), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Pours a medium brown with very little head. Aroma of ripe apples, toffee, honey, and sweet bread. Flavor resebled the aroma, sweet fruits and honey dominate, along with hints of bourbon. Medium bodied, with little carbonation - just a slight tingle on the palate. This was closer to an ale at first, but the mead qualities came through as it warmed. Perhaps lacking the depth and complexity of a true barleywine, but very drinkable, especially cosidering the alcohol content. Alcohol is very well hidden, the high ABV is only apparent is the warming feeling in your belly. kiefdog (1639), Tampa, Florida, USA

Aroma of honey with a heavy syrupy side.
Taste is again of honey with a bourbon like mouthfeel that later becomes a lot more sugary.
Hefty abv that remains very enjoyable.
Honey ale, barley wine, mead, you take your pick.
