| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 15, 2008 A shit ton of honey in the aroma with some oldish smelling malts, and then more honey. Amber pour, stagnant looking with no head. The flavor is of sweet honey and not much else. Strong alcohol, lots of sweetness. Very wine like. Perhaps a little sourness in the finish. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 3, 2008 Thanks Redlight for the taste. Pours a dark butterscotch color with a strong smell of honey. Taste is more honey with a slight grassiness and just a touch of tangy hoppiness at the end. Beerlando (2332), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Courtesy Redlight. Pours a very lightly hazy, dark orange-amber color. Nearly still, the body shows a minuscule film at the surface, dense, sugary legging coating the glass. Ultra-sweet aromas of honey, golden raisins, brown sugar, and dates dominate the nose, though a light floral hoppiness is detectable. Sweet and sugary in flavor as well, this brew shows like a tripel mixed with a mead. Honey and candy sugar are intense, with saccharine fruits lending even further, unrelenting sweetness. A mild hop dosage does just enough to save this from undrinkable status. Medium-full, slick, and sugary, the mouthfeel is unimpressive. Not impressed. tomhenderson (127), Carolinas area, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 28, 2008 22 oz bottle. Pours brilliantly clear medium copper with a thin but persistent head throughout consumption. The aroma is heavy with sweet caramelly malts and just a hint of honey -- less than I would expect of a Bragget. The flavor is a unique blend of caramel and medium color fruits (apricots, etc). Mouthfeel is hot with alcohol and thin for a barley wine, likely due to honey’s nature to ferment completely. It’s an interesting beer but at ten bux, I’ll look for something else next time I want something different. dkachur (2371), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 15, 2008 22 ounce bottle shared by cdumler and with Alraomon. Thanks Chris! Pours a brownish-purple color with a little fizz, but no head. Aroma of honey, berries and toffee. Complex taste with notes of grain, honey, berries, apples, hops, spice and very subtle warming alcohol notes. Full bodied. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 10, 2008 Medium brown pour with no head. Very sweet aroma. Medium spicy flavor with a lot of sweetness. Slightly peppery with some heat from the alcohol. Could use a bit of age, but good. after4ever (2762), Brier, Washington, USA
