Good lacing. gSmells of toasted chocolate, roasted malts, and grahm cracker. The smell is a little plasticy. The flavour is equally roasty and bitter. The flavour is initially roasted malt, shifting into bitter hops and unsweetened baking cocoa, then finishing with bitter-sweet chocolate. The finish is very short after the first sip, but as you drink, the finish gets longer. This is probably due to the thin palate, which is especially thin for a porter. A nice drinking porter but not as robust as I like my porters to be. SoLan (1417), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 14, 2007 Dark brown/black. Small tan cap. Lightly roasty dark chocolate in the aroma, subtle nougat, also. Flavor like a slightly overcooked chocolate chip cookie. Medium body, smooth, easy to drink. Decent porter. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 14, 2007 Pours brown/black with a small light tan head. Decent amount of roast and some chocolate in the smell. Roasted malts were there too. The taste is big on the roast, with a definite bitterness to go along with it. Very toasty on the palate, some chocolate left in the finish. Pretty solid porter. I like the chocolate in the aftertaste. Lighter porter, but pretty tasty. dyetube (409), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 13, 2007 This beer pours black with a medium tan head leaving no lacing down the sides. I really like the aromas coming from this beer! Smells very smokey, like a smoked malt. The taste is quite smooth and creamy. Not quite as creamy as some of the better porters, though. While this does fall a little bit short, I do like this beer for what it is. It is very drinkable and decent. Cheers elmatador00 (518), j-action-ville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Poured a dark oil slick black color with a thin tan head. Has some hints of roasted malts and barley. Also it had a dark chocolate taste. Finished with a roasted taste on the tongue. VAYankee (248), Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 10, 2007 Dark brown body with a small light brown head. Rich chocolate roasted malt aroma. Flavor starts with a very short burst of sweetness that quickly disappears into a somewhat bitter coffee. Strong dry finish - roasted malt and just a little choclate. Palate is a little thin. Poured a nice deep brown-black. Nice creamy, tan head that quickly receded into a creamy cap. very little lacing. Taste of burnt malt, molasses, stong black coffee, touch of dark chocolate. Taste pretty much bitter everything. Medium body, semi-sticky texture, almost flat carbonation, long dry bitter finish. Definitely not one of my favorites, in fact I doubt I would ever buy this one again. Its not that it is offensive, just not much going for it.
