| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 17, 2009 Courtesy of dkachur. Pours brown with copper edges and loose tan head. I couldn’t help but take a little slug of this from out of the bottle. First taste impression is yum yum yummy chocolate. A chocolate Porter? The aroma puts out a pleasing mix of chocolate, caramel with a bit of burnt malts and pine hops. This aroma reminds me of a very well aged Bigfoot. The taste is chocolate brownie with dark chocolate chips and with thin ribbons of caramel over the top. I also get a mild level of dark fruitiness that adds to the experience along with a bit of burnt malts around the outer rim of the tongue. I don’t know how this is a porter but the flavor is divine. Nice stuff! EHopper (348), Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2009 Stopped in a bottle shop next to a gas station just down from the pizza place to grab my wife a four pack of Mike’s to have with her pizza and the proprieter showed me this big selection of a beer he was so proud of that he was selling at a huge discount. I picked up two six packs to see him smile and, well, found it to be very drinkable, something nice to have in the fridge, with just enough malt and chocolate, coffee and smoke to make it interesting to the bottom of the glass. alobar (1026), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
