| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 24, 2006 Pours near black with a thin foamy light brown head. Yeast chunklets floating around. Bread dough, crystal malt, and light roast (chocolate). Perhaps a bit of oxidation. Mouthfeel is medium/full bodied with lush carbonation. Tastes like an old bottle, too bad the ’best buy’ date wasn’t marked. Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 17, 2006 Pours dark brown with a thin head, you can see some amber through the light as well. The chocolate malt is the most prevelant in the aroma as well as the taste. You can really smell the roasted coffee. The flavor is much richer then the aroma though. The finish is a little watered down, but smooth and flavorful nonetheless. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 3, 2006 12 oz bottle, via porterhouse. Pours a dark brown with mahogany highlights under a small and quickly fading light brown head. Light sediment in bottle. Aroma is of strong roasted malt with a lesser amount of chocolate malt, some coffee, tobacco, and dry yeastiness. Lots of roast on the flavor as well with some dark chocolate up front. Finish is dry with a light hoppiness and has good length. Mouthfeel is fairly light bodied with fizzy carbonation. A little watery in texture. Overall, this was a decent beer, but it really crossed over into the Stout category with the large amount of roast flavor to be considered a great "Porter". Man, I’ve had this baby in the back of my frig since November 05.
Poured a mysterious brown, almost opaque body… a tall rocky tan head. The aroma is mild and well rounded… not too much of any one attribute but never lacking anywhere… coffee, coco, followed by an English hop variety of sort. The flavor is more roasted coffee flavors followed by dates, a bitter baker’s chocolate, and an off simi-tartness of old cream. The very small bit of lactic tartness through me for a loop at the end… but I much enjoyed it. The palate is medium and finishes with a dry chard bitterness. – I dig this porter… I get a solid vibe here!

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 27, 2006 Dark black color with a nearly nonexistant head. Just a fizzy film on top. Not much to the nose, little bit of coffe and roast malt. Strong coffee flavor at the start fades into an odd but not unlikeable sour finish. A little thin for my liking.
