Commercial Description:
Leafpeeper Lager’s pleasant and noble aroma comes from a very large dose of soft hops, balanced by the sweetness of extra pale barley. This yields a beer which has a delicate creaminess balanced with a hoppy finish, a thoroughly delightful autumnal experience.

(Rating #2746)

My Bottom Line:
Muddled herbal hops and shy bready malt flavors are bothered by a dusty edge in this almost crisp Lager.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A nice sheet of foam covers the hazy golden.
-This is nowhere near any true Bohemian Pilsener I’ve had.
-A citrusy fruitiness is mostly present in the aroma.
-The big bubbles and rather lean body make for easy drinking; if it weren’t for that dusty component...
-Sweet barley notes are shy and unpolished. Far from any good BoPIls.

Bottle.

(22 oz. bottle from Global Beverage) Pours slightly hazy golden, becoming cloudier and more bronze-amber deeper into bottle. Tall, off-white head in my pilsener glass recedes to a lumpy, frothy cap. Aroma of honey, bread and vanilla, and as head recedes there is grass and some rotten egg. Mouthfeel fairly nice and malty-smooth, light prickliness, lightly dry toward finish. Flavor is doughy-sweet malt overlain by a light pine bitterness leading to a nice little piney-bitter bite in the finish. Finishes fairly crisply. Not bad, perhaps like a junior Rogue Uberfest.
