Still fairly carbonated for such a small head. Aroma is of roasted malts, sweet caramel, light coffee and some smokiness. Flavor is much heavier on the peated malts... actually quite strong. Some sweetness and roasted malts. The alleged heather adds a "what is that" quality to the flavors. A good one... I liked it... jgb9348 (2496), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 13, 2009 Deep dark brown coloured body with a very thin slightly tan colour - not much movement on this one. Aroma of roasted malt, light coffee, caramel and a decent amount of metal. Medium-bodied; Very assertive metallic flavours tucked in with roasted nuts and malt and a bit of caramel. Aftertaste shows some mellow spices and some light caramel sweetness, but nothing too pleasant. Overall, too roasty and bitter with not enough of the pleasant tastes coming through. Definitely not one of my favourite beers from this style, which isn’t my favourite style. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liquor Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 03-October-2009 sampled at home in Washington on 13-October-2009. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2009 9/19/2008: Atlantic MacFooshies Scottish Ale pours a deep chesnut brown color and has an aroma of highly caramelized malt with hints of roasted malt and coffee. The flavor is smoky and malty. The roastiness and smoke is at a good level. There are chocolate undertones in the flavor as well. This beer has a moderately full body and is smooth. Overall it is a solid Scottish Ale.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2009 Solid brown color with minimal head. Aroma of toasted malts and peat. Nicely blended flavor-toasted malts, peat, caramel, heather. Good beer, but a bit more of an edge could make it a very good beer. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
