A minimal head, tan foam, medium sweetness, lightly bitter.medium body, Palate is creamy, average carbonation, slighlty bitter finish. Liked the smokiness. Don’t taste the heather, but I wouldn’t know it if I did. patrick767 (2033), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2007 bottle - Pours very dark brown with a medium sized head and an aroma of malt and chocolate. The flavor includes dark roast caramel malt, some of that chocolate, and some dark fruit along with a touch of bitterness. It’s sweet but not too sweet. Smooth and full bodied, it’s a nice quaff. thoramel (39), USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 26, 2007 Pours almost black with a medium head. Smoky, hoppy, floral aroma is pretty inviting. A pleasant flavor of smoke and cocoa is what I notice at first with a lingering sweetness on the palate. A really good beer for the price. JAF737300 (797), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 28, 2007 On tap at the brewery. The color is dark brown with a thick beige head. The taste is rich of malt, with also a sweet taste of molasse that is not overpowering it is well balanced. There is just the right amount of bitterness to make it a very good Scotch ale. Arome de malte caramelisé doux, un peu d’alcool. Goût lég de caramel malté avec un peu de mélasse, pas trop amère. Bonne mais elle manque de quoi!
