22oz bottle, shared with a few family members on July 4th. poured a medium brown color, with a thick tan head. Nice aroma of chocolate malt and cocoa. Very well-balanced flavor, with chocolate, oak, alcohol, peat and other earthy flavors. This beer nicely complimented some ribs fresh off the charcoal grill. Very tasty. I’ll buy this frequently.

22 oz bottle poured into my makeshift thistle glass (upside down "Uncola" 7-Up glass from back in the day). Color is dark brown with red tints and no clarity. Medium head but seems to never dissipate. Aroma is present and well balanced, first an airy lightly sweet toffee comes up on the nose and right away it’s backed up with a punch of smokiness with a woodsy feel all around. Very well rounded aroma where the elements compliment each other. Taste is more peat smoke with a bark flavor and more like a slippery-syrup toffee. Just lightly sweet and a well rounded flavor all around, low bitterness. Leaves this original woodsy and leafy aftertaste (must be the heather?). A nice light medium body with below moderate, which feels very nice on the cheeks (felt but not overwhelming). Really enjoyable and no alcohol felt at all. This is what I want my Scotch Ale to taste like, thirst quenching, returnable, and highly recommended.

22oz. bottle sampled. Pours dark with ruby edges, and a decent size tan head. Aroma of dark fruit, roast, molasses, smoke, and caramel. The flavor is smooth, dark fruit, caramel, molasses, roast, and smoke. Very nice.

A dark brown appearance. A roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. The flavor is quite malty with some chocolate, raisins, and nutmeg. A sweet and alcoholic finish. Not bad.

Dark Brown, thin tan head. Earthy, coffee-ish aroma. Flavor is alos very earthy, with notes of coffee, chocolate, whiskey and a unusual dry finish.

Appearance: Pours a deep, dark mahogany body with a small beige head. Smell: Smokey, toasted caramel maltiness encirlced in a wreath of heather flowers. Taste: Initially, a pleasant roasted, chocolate maltiness. This flavor then gives way to the heather which, for me, comes across as antiseptic-tasting. That flowery, medicinal heather taste is simply embedded in the finish, too. Good gracious, me. I didn’t know my palate would find the taste of heather to be so off-putting. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Fair carbonation. Drinkability: I liked this beer all the way up until I stopped liking it, or, to place the blame where it belongs, until it shoved a handful of flowers into my mouth. Up until then, though, pretty tasty.

Cold 22oz bottle: Pours an opaque dark brown color with ruby highlights and minimal tan bubbles around the edges of the glass. Dark malts, earth, flowers and dark fruits. Watery texture and smooth with low carbonation. Ending is of dark malts with brown sugar.

Bomber: Pours a clear deep ruby color with a thin tan head, aroma has deep rich malts, cherries and some smoke and caramel, full bodied with mellow carbonation, nice rich ending, starts and ends lightly sweet.
