| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 22, 2009 Pale amber with fair head thanks to a vivacious carbonation. In the nose, the unfocused flavours belong in a earthy, caramelly range. Dull malts and hard, salty water are a poor match and when the body feels watery on top of it, it’s even worse. Very dull on the palate and to top it all, covers an unpleasant grainy acidity. Poor for its strength. bu11zeye (5510), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 10, 2007 Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing light tan head. Has a sweet dark caramely malty nose with nice peaty notes. Body starts with a fairly full lightly sweet earthy caramel malty flavor with some slightly floral bitterness toward a drier earthy finish. A fairly nice scotch ale. hopscotch (5491), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 7, 2007 Bottle... Clear, dark mahogany ale with a small, fizzy, mushroom-colored head. Nose is of caramel, cola, mild raisin and light smoke. Sweet, caramel, cocoa flavor with very little hop bitterness... "hopped with heather", after all. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Sweet, chocolaty finish. Never becomes cloyingly sweet, but walks a fine line. Thanks so much, boboski! Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA
