smcolw (310), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA Oct 31, 2009 Cloudy; neutral amber color. Light head--leaves some slippery and spotty lace.
Mild fresh grated ginger aroma. No sweetness to the nose.
First impression is how dry the beer is. This is not an overwhelmingly strong ginger ale. The ginger really only shows up on the swallow. The aftertaste is short. The liquid is what you’d expect from a typical ale. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA Sep 16, 2009 On tap at the brewery. A standard American wheat ale with the surprisingly refreshing taste of ginger root added. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this beer. I could definitely drink a couple pints. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Jul 8, 2009 Pours a hazy orange into the glass without much of a retentive head... the teeniest of lace may be noted as the brew moves down the glass. The nose is of nondescript light spices (ok, ginger since you told me, but not discernible in a blind whiff test). The flavors follow in tow, an American Wheat base with lots of herbs and vegetal notes. The ginger root begins to present itself mid-palate, lingering through the finish, building momentum as the brew warms. The mouthfeel is light with decent carbonation levels. Although it’s drinkable, it’s not nearly complex enough to be effective. alobar (1001), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 9, 2009 Different. Aroma of ginger root. Pours an orange amber color with a thin white head. On the palate is mostly ginger with some spice and wheat. 6ROW (242), corpus christi, Texas, USA May 27, 2009 Updated: Jun 8, 2009orange pour with a thin white head. great ginger aroma and taste. this is way better than it sounds droyer (4), Minnesota, USA does not count Apr 23, 2009 Very surprised by this one. Light hazy color. Nice slightly fruity head. Light refreshing ginger taste in the background. Foreground taste is a nice summer wheat beer. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 8, 2009 From bottle. Smells only of fresh cut ginger root. Sweet but mostly very spicy and sharp. Light malt undertones and no hops. Dull golden clear with slight haze, topped with creamy off-white lacing head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts out tasting just like a dry ginger ale, then like a beer flavored strongly with ginger. Lots of ginger root in there, with light malt sweetness. Dregs make it a bit smoother and cloudier, but doesn’t change the taste too much. Trev (849), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Mar 27, 2009 Pours hazy gold/orange with thin head.
Aroma is grainy malt, some wheat and yeast, very light Ginger.
Flavour is sourish wheat, some Ginger spice tones through the middle and a light banana wheat finish with lingering trace of Ginger.
