| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 21, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours copper with a small off-white head. Aroma of spices, caramel, and grain. The flavor is sweet, spices, caramel, and finishes with a grainy light bitterness. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 14, 2007 Bottle, no notches on date stamp. Slightly cloudy topaz with a humongous head that lasts. Nose is strong ginger; occasional whiffs of crackers, citrus, malt and grassy-herby hops hidden underneath. Taste is strong ginger, some dry bread, slight lemon, and bitter herb hops on the finish. Non-ginger flavors become more apparent at the end of the glass, after my tongue is sort of desensitized to the ginger. Palate is light-medium bodied, fairly smooth, slightly astringent and sticky at the end. I like the fact they make this beer, but you really gotta be craving ginger for this one to be your style. Better than the typical American Wheat though, and actually one of the more memorable beers from this brewery. Crafty07 (392), Florence, Kentucky, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 14, 2007 Wow, I’d like to give my review but the person just in front of me nailed it perfectly. ginger and orange aroma, followed by a ’gummy’ too strong ginger taste. Novelty beer but not a good choice to return to all that often. NachlamSie (1637), Tennessee, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 11, 2007 Bottle. Pours a semi cloudy yellowish color with a very small white head. I’m getting a little orange, rolls, wheat and other scents commonly associated with an American styled wheat ale. The ginger is noticed, but it blends well with the citrus aspect. Ah, ginger is much more present in the flavor. The beer is slightly tart and manages to be refreshing in a lemonade way. The finish gets a little gummy after a few sips. It’s a pretty light, simple thirst quencher. Probably not something I’d reach for again. I really like ginger (probably moreso on food, though) but I don’t really like American wheat beers. Arome de gingembre très présant, peu de malte. Goût de gingembre amère, peu malté. Passable! Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 25, 2007 Hazy and golden without much of a head. Just a tad bit of white film on top. Interesting hint of honey in the aroma sits on top of a slightly citrusy ginger aroma. There’s a bit of a lime and ginger taste in this one with a bready finish. Dry finish and lively carbonation round this one out. Not bad at all! cheapdark (2016), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Jun 1, 2007 12 oz twist off bottle from The Beer Store Bottle Shop in Moon Township for $1.75 nice price Frank. Has some sediment in the bottom of the bottle. A darker almost apricot orange color unfiltered wheat beer look with swirling haze. Difficult and somewhat aggressive spice or hoppy flavor. I’m curious if this is a fruit or veggy beer. Not many entries in my spiced/herb/vegatable style. Flavor is different than most others, individual in taste. The ginger adds a unique alky impression that makes this seem more than is listed. Has a long way to go when compared tothe manners of circus boy. Not as bad as old fezziwig or Sly Fox Xmas Ale.
