Fairly tame in aroma, with ginger being the most dominate. Some hints of wheat and cookie dough at well. Fuller flavors, with caramel and malt in the front and carrying through to the finish. Ginger and generic spice come in mid swizzle. A sharp spice, even alcohol seems to come in right at the start of the finish and dries the linger out. Left with a dry ginger residue. Aroma of soapy ginger root and sesame oil coupled with hopcitrus. The flavor was malty, gingery, with back end hops. Unique, and worth quaffing again if I see it locally, although not by the case. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 15, 2002 Well, its interesting but it doesn’t quite work. Very dry; interesting ginger/hoppy nose and lots of spice flavor throughout; very dry. Real problem is a metallic character that gets stronger as time passes. Unlikely to try it again, but glad I had it once. bhensonb (4389), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 1, 2008 Bottle from Wine Cellar. Hazy golden tinged amber color with a slight white head. Aroma is ginger. Near medium body with frothy carbonation. The flavor is primarily ginger, though there seems to be a bit of breadiness underneath. This is a very good ginger. It keeps the spiciness right on through to the end. heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 16, 2008 Hazy dark gold with a bright, light khaki head. The aroma is rich peaches and ginger. There is also a yeasty note. The taste has some nasty notes of old ginger that has sat on the counter. There is also a little bit of nasty cheap sponge cake, like the outside of a Twinkie, but without the filling. Pretty nasty. Skyview (4108), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

Taste is medium bodied, white bread, soap, abundant ginger and lemon zest. Finish continues the soap aftertaste with a hint of white pepper.
