Commercial Description:
A refreshing wheat beer spiced with fresh ginger root. The process of making this wheat beer has been nicknamed "special ginger tea", due to the fact that we add over 20 lbs. of fresh ground ginger root into the boil. We use pale malt, and wheat, as well as Target and Whitbread Goldings Variation hops to flavor this light, summer ale. Island Ginger is particularly popular during the warmer summer months, though thanks to the ginger kick it has, it would also be warming in the cold winter months.

Bottle. Medium smooth white head that was mostly diminishing with fine-small sized bubbles, semi-transparent, carbonated, fair lacing, and a pale yellow hue. Malty, sweet, spicy, peppery aroma. Flavor was sweet, spicy and peppery. Tingly mouthfeel. Light-medium bodied beer.

Bottle. Hazy gold with a small white head. Nose is STRONG ginger and not much else. Taste features a more subdued ginger, soft grains, and sweet malt. It’s still sort of lop-sided towards the ginger, though. Body is light and bubbly. Leaning towards dry in the finish. Ends with, you guessed it, more ginger. Softer grains and sweet malts. Not horrible but one of these is more than enough unless you’re a ginger junkie.

Jax Package Store, SandySprings, Ga. - 12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly dark golden to light orange with a thin wispy white head - some sediment floating about. Ginger like aroma - smells like the stuff I never eat on a sushi platter. Flavor is reminiscent of slightly stale ginger ale, with a slightly tinny after taste, not much else. Mouthfeel is quite thin. Nothing to write home about.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear medium orange color. Head was thin, white, and reduced quickly to a thin film. Aroma was of distinct, but subdued ginger, and a whiff of cinnamon roll. Dry on the tongue with flavors of ginger, lemon, and savory scone. Light and refreshing. Would be nice on a hot day.

12ozer from the brewery. Pours orange/amber with a 2 finger chunky white head. Not much in the nose. Taste is sweet with a little bite, ehhh. I love the name as I love the Island but damn this needs so much more.

gold color. floculent in colloidal suspension. peaked creamy white head. smells like peaches - and ginger. ... and mary ann. big ginger flavor. a wheat ale. ginger is the middle flavor, with jasmin leading off and wheat taste closing. complex herbal tea aroma. ginger numbs the mouth slightly. slight lemon taste throughout. the ginger is strong and pleasant - perfect to drink with sushi?

Color of dirty water. Very light ginger in the flavor and aroma, but a beer with very little flavor. Light palate, and it is hard to taste the ginger without a very big sip.

On tap at the brewery. Cloudy golden color with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor of wheat and ginger. Light body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Interesting and original but I’m not a big fan of ginger beers.
