Commercial Description:
A refreshing wheat beer spiced with fresh ginger root. The process of making this wheat beer has been nicknamed "special ginger tea", due to the fact that we add over 20 lbs. of fresh ground ginger root into the boil. We use pale malt, and wheat, as well as Target and Whitbread Goldings Variation hops to flavor this light, summer ale. Island Ginger is particularly popular during the warmer summer months, though thanks to the ginger kick it has, it would also be warming in the cold winter months.

Hazy golden, fizzy off white head. Grainy sweetness fills the nose with very light citrus, wheat, and ginger undertones. Flavor is crisp wheaty ginger with a light bitterness. Pretty refreshing actually. Light bodied, medium carbonation, dry finish. A nice change of pace...

Pours cloudy yellow with almost no head. Light ginger and sulfide aroma. Taste is pretty heavy on the ginger. Not really overpowering but heavy. Slight sweetness in the finish, like honey. I could see me drinking this in the heat of the summer.

A faint ginger and honey aroma. Appearance is a murky yellow/orange appearance. The flavor is wheat, honey, and just a hint of ginger. What’s going on with this one really? This is not a horrible beer just horribly boring. Glad I only picked up a 12oz. Next please!

Dark Golden color with a nice white head that lingers and is slightly cloudy. It like the ginger smell. Spice ginger taste is prevalent but creates an earthy mouth feel that is slight unpleasant.

Pours a light-hazed amber with dusty particulate and faint carbonation beneath a fleeting head. Ginger certainly takes over the aroma which otherwise shows a roasty nuttiness. Spicy flavor (with the additional perception of anise), a mild tingle and a dry sourness. An acquired taste for those inclined to powerful spicing.

Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a one finger frothy white head. Ginger in the aroma, sweet ginger, spicy, not much else. The flavor is the same. A neutral base beer with some ginger, not bad but not something you want more than one of.

poured a very thin amber color with no head at all and no lacings. it smelled very sweet but not really any ginger at all. it had a taste of ginger but not much at all and was too light on the palate for me.

Bottle sampled. Pours copper with a small off-white head. Aroma of spices, caramel, and grain. The flavor is sweet, spices, caramel, and finishes with a grainy light bitterness.
