Commercial Description:
A refreshing wheat beer spiced with fresh ginger root. The process of making this wheat beer has been nicknamed "special ginger tea", due to the fact that we add over 20 lbs. of fresh ground ginger root into the boil. We use pale malt, and wheat, as well as Target and Whitbread Goldings Variation hops to flavor this light, summer ale. Island Ginger is particularly popular during the warmer summer months, though thanks to the ginger kick it has, it would also be warming in the cold winter months.

Poured a medium, cloudy golden color with a smaller white head. Aromas of ginger and almost a sweet honey aroma. Sweet tasting with a spicy bite to it. Thin and weaker body.

Bottle. Poured a hazy orange-brown color with a white head that fizzed off quickly. Smells of ginger and wheat. Very faint hoppy flavor. Light body with a lively carbonation that took over the flavor.

Cloudy; neutral amber color. Light head--leaves some slippery and spotty lace. Mild fresh grated ginger aroma. No sweetness to the nose. First impression is how dry the beer is. This is not an overwhelmingly strong ginger ale. The ginger really only shows up on the swallow. The aftertaste is short. The liquid is what you’d expect from a typical ale.

Pours a hazy dark macro yellow with an insignificant head. Smells ambitious. Sushi ginger! Even has that slight pickled sort of smell that I guess might be coming from the alcohol, there’s also a certain sweetness. This is smooth in the mouth with a warming not coming from the alcohol, but rather from the ginger I think! That wheaty feel is there, but short of the aftertaste, the wheat just doesn’t make itself known. This is really just like drinking sushi ginger. Huge ginger flavor with a bit of sweetness (just like sushi ginger). There’s a touch of light malt inthe background and a bit of english hops peaks out from the back of the main flavor. The aftertaste is wheaty, and of course, the ginger is inescapable. I wouldn’t get this beer again, but damn, this is something unlike anything else I’ve ever drank--bonus overall point for that one.

Fairly light amber color - hazy and cloudy. Aroma of tart citrus, grassy hops and a hint of spice. Flavor is of a typical dry wheat beer, with a hint of spice/ginger. Kind of a muddy flavor though - doesn’t really shine.

Aroma is malty, with some spicy peppery notes, which I can imagine is ginger. Pours a moderately hazy color with lots of floaties and an extremely quickly dissipating head. Blonde/copper color. Holy astringent batman. Wow, still puckering. Ironically, this has some decent malts in it with some sweetness. This does have a rather sour and peppery start with lots of ginger. A unique brew! Not too bad. Grows on me.

(12oz bottle) Small off white head atop a clear amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, ginger, peach, some cereal. Taste is medium sweet, ginger, some cereal, light herbal bitterness. Light body, some crispness.

Light golden colored beer with a thin head. Aroma wafts of mild ginger aroma. Beer is light and crisp, but tastes very gingerlike. Not too unsellting, but it is definitely a strong flavor.
