The nose is of nondescript light spices (ok, ginger since you told me, but not discernible in a blind whiff test). The flavors follow in tow, an American Wheat base with lots of herbs and vegetal notes. The ginger root begins to present itself mid-palate, lingering through the finish, building momentum as the brew warms. The mouthfeel is light with decent carbonation levels. Although it’s drinkable, it’s not nearly complex enough to be effective. Quevillon (1540), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada

Arome de gingembre très présant, peu de malte. Goût de gingembre amère, peu malté. Passable! raymow (738), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA

(I was always more of a Maryanne kind of guy...ha-ha! - I crack myself up). vwsteggie (684), Paxton, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 19, 2003 Has a clouded orangish color with a good bit of carbonation and a ginger smell. Taste is gingery, but finishes with little taste. Overall ginger is not my thing unless it is a cookie, but the flavor of this beer ends rather abruptly leaving it a little empty. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 8, 2009 From bottle. Smells only of fresh cut ginger root. Sweet but mostly very spicy and sharp. Light malt undertones and no hops. Dull golden clear with slight haze, topped with creamy off-white lacing head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts out tasting just like a dry ginger ale, then like a beer flavored strongly with ginger. Lots of ginger root in there, with light malt sweetness. Dregs make it a bit smoother and cloudier, but doesn’t change the taste too much. SJP (483), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Lots of ginger in the aroma, flavor and aftertaste. Basicaly a mediocre ale with all the ginger one could want thrown in. Living in China, I’ve had about all of the ginger I need. Good for a taste, but I wouldn’t go in for a sixer. HighGravity (891), Baltimore, Maryland, USA

Essentially, this is an American Wheat fermented with Ringwood and flavored with ginger. That’s a combination that under most circumstances that would make me sick, but this beer is at least adequately refreshing and I can see where it may even be good with a spicy curry. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 20, 2005 Bottle: Aroma of ginger and grass. Pours a hazy orange with a minimal soapyl off-white head. Flavor is very grassy up front with a moderate, but slightly watery, ginger finish. Wheat characteristics don’t really come thru. Mediocre at best.
