Commercial Description:
A refreshing wheat beer spiced with fresh ginger root. The process of making this wheat beer has been nicknamed "special ginger tea", due to the fact that we add over 20 lbs. of fresh ground ginger root into the boil. We use pale malt, and wheat, as well as Target and Whitbread Goldings Variation hops to flavor this light, summer ale. Island Ginger is particularly popular during the warmer summer months, though thanks to the ginger kick it has, it would also be warming in the cold winter months.

Very surprised by this one. Light hazy color. Nice slightly fruity head. Light refreshing ginger taste in the background. Foreground taste is a nice summer wheat beer.

2005 bottle consumed on 7/1/2005 with SuIIy. Deep pencil yellow/candied pineapple colored body. Thick and cloudy looking, completely opaque and unfiltered. Fizzy white head recedes quickly to ring, but tons of lacing is left on the glass. Aroma is full on ginger. Not a lot gets around the ginger, though the ginger smells fresh and juicy. Flavor of ginger and vanilla, up front, with a bit of wheat sour/dryness. Light banana chips notes. Low carbonation, lazy bubbles burst forth on to the surface and pleasure the tongue quite nicely. Some candied pineapple flavor on the end, sort of a mix of the ginger and sweet malt. Touches of sourness on the finish, as well. The mouthfeel is quite interesting, with a chewy or perhaps, gummy sort of texture. Well-malted, with ginger and vanilla beans lingering on.

It debarks from the 12 ounce brown bottle a nebulous amber with a modest white head that is spumous in texture, the lace a thin slip to cover the glass. Nose is sweet, hints of ginger, and to me a cinnamon like aroma also present, nice to sniff at any rate, start is quite sweet, nice malt presence, top is moderate in feel. Finish has a nice benign acidity, the hops understated but pleasing to the palate, the aftertaste sweet and dry, a real nice summertime beer, and one that would sell well in arid-zona.

Bottle, nice strong flavor or ginger with a little sweetness to it. Not a beer you can just drink tons of and not one you can drink fast, more like a wine that you sip and enjoy over time. Also was great with the wing that i have give a me a ginger chicken flavor to it.

Light and refreshing with a stong ginger flavor. A good summer beer.

On tap at the brewery. A standard American wheat ale with the surprisingly refreshing taste of ginger root added. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this beer. I could definitely drink a couple pints.

I've noticed that ginger beers are often as flat as Kate Hudson. Don't know why, but this beer is hardly any different. Its wheatiness shines through and the ginger flavor is present, but not overwhelming. Good.
