Commercial Description:
A refreshing wheat beer spiced with fresh ginger root. The process of making this wheat beer has been nicknamed "special ginger tea", due to the fact that we add over 20 lbs. of fresh ground ginger root into the boil. We use pale malt, and wheat, as well as Target and Whitbread Goldings Variation hops to flavor this light, summer ale. Island Ginger is particularly popular during the warmer summer months, though thanks to the ginger kick it has, it would also be warming in the cold winter months.

Hazy and golden without much of a head. Just a tad bit of white film on top. Interesting hint of honey in the aroma sits on top of a slightly citrusy ginger aroma. There’s a bit of a lime and ginger taste in this one with a bready finish. Dry finish and lively carbonation round this one out. Not bad at all!

POurs a medium amber. The notes of citrus show up in the aroma. The palate gives you some hop notes but this is where the ginger comes out and gives a nice light bite.

Nice refreshing beer with a generous ginger spiciness. Goes great with thai food, or when in the mood for something different.

This is a decent beer considering the style. I love wheat beer and ginger so this was a good mix. Aroma was decent..a little ginger but not much with some wheat in there. Pour was a nice dark gold with a one finger white head. Taste was gingery and spicey...wheat is an aftertaste and very weak. This is a novelty beer that is good when you’re in the mood but nothing to be taken seriously.

This was actually pretty good stuff, but you have to really like ginger, because this tastes like the real thing, which was pleasing on the palate. Grainy cereal maltiness, wheaty and citrusy, with great flavors of ginger throughout. Nicely done.

Wonderful aroma - ginger (no kidding). Deep golden honey - excellent color; short head and lacing. Taste was sweet with some caramel and a ginger bite. No real hop presence - and in this case I think that’s a good thing. Finish is dry and short. Refreshing.

Cloudy dark gold, thin white head. Floral aroma. Earthy, sweetish flavor with a hint of wheat taste. I may be in the minority, but I really didn’t pick up much ginger flavor.

Hazy golden, fizzy off white head. Grainy sweetness fills the nose with very light citrus, wheat, and ginger undertones. Flavor is crisp wheaty ginger with a light bitterness. Pretty refreshing actually. Light bodied, medium carbonation, dry finish. A nice change of pace...
