The only resemblance I detect to a wheat beer is the appearance? Hazy golden body and a downy white head. The aroma and flavor are vaguely musty, vegetable like, lightly doughy and yeasty, biscuity, and show the essence of the ginger root. The palate is rather buttery but pretty much on the light side of the spectrum… Not bad but not too memorable either!

Jan 20, 2006 Bottle. Clear amber with large frothy white head that diminished slowly. Heavy hoppy ginger aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Moderate sweet ginger flavor with a small bitter finish. Drinkable brew.

Feb 24, 2006 A sweet aftertaste that turns not unpleasantly sour. think of a type of applesauce with ginger rather than cinnamon. Could see drinking this under the christmas tree. goodbye gingerbreadman, hello island ginger.

Jan 14, 2006 Updated: Jun 20, 2006Pours hazy light golden with a fully receding white head. Aroma of citrus and ginger with mild fruitiness and a note of alcohol. Taste is spicy and fruity with a dry finish. Mouthfeel is thin bodied with medium carbonation. No major flaws, but just not enough to satisfy my expectations of ginger greatness.

Jul 20, 2008 Hazydeep brassy gold, thick dense white finger-thick cap. Aroma of grainy cereal and fresh ginger. Flavour is wheaty with natural ginger flavour in good balance, and a nice lemon oil accent. I was pleasantly surprised with this one.

Jun 9, 2009 Different. Aroma of ginger root. Pours an orange amber color with a thin white head. On the palate is mostly ginger with some spice and wheat.

Aug 20, 2008 Pours gold into a shaker. White head quickly recedes to hug rim. Sweet malt and mild ginger aromas. Sweet full malt upfront with a cloying ginger finish.
