Commercial Description:
This strongly hopped, crisp ale, is the clear choice for the hop enthusiast. We use pale, crystal, black and Munich malts, and a veritable boatload of Northdown bittering hops for this ale. Like the Ginger Wheat, it is quite popular in the warm weather, as hops yield a clean, crisp bitter that is rather refreshing.

Subtle nose of grains and spice. Pours a sparkling copper. The fully lasting creamy/rocky bone colored head leaves very good lace. The brew is fairly malty in front, the middle is moderately acidic. The finish is nothing short of exceptional! This brew has great balance that compliments good complexity. The medium to full body is creamy & soft. The finish feels very astringent. Highly recommended session brew.

This is a delicous brew. Best atlantic makes, probably one of the best Maine beers actually. I’ve had this bottled and yesterday I got to enjoy it on tap at the brewery which is the only place you can have it like that. This is a wonderfully bitter, hoppy, and great looking beer. This will not disappoint the hop head or the bitter lover out there.

One of the best beers i had while in Maine. I loved the crisp hops. Great summer beer for the hop lover.

Beautiful color reminds me of birchbeer with a light tan head. Stewed plum, fresh apricot, and hops make up the nose. Medium on the palate with good carbonation on the lighter side making it fairly crisp. The interesting thing about this brew is that the fruit hits your palate at the same time as the hops, which I make out as very subtle black cherry. Not that complex but it lives up to its name as a dry bitter ale, very drinkable.

Pours a deep clear amber with a 1/4 inch tan head. Some sparse lacing. Smells strongly of herbal hops and fruity yeast with hints of tea leaves in there too. Taste is bitingly bitter herbal hops. Hoppy as hell really. Some fruitiness from the yeast and malt but mostly that herbal tea-like hoppiness. Medium bodied, the alpha acids stick to your teeth and roof of your mouth and linger a bit. Really good stuff. The closest thing to a British style bitter made in America I’ve tasted. I usually don’t like British-style bitters much anyway but this one is a standout.

This ale pours a glorious brown amber color with a bountiful head. Delicious flowery hop aroma. Crisp bitter flavor without lingering bitterness. Rich, interesting and tasty.

One of my favorite versions of the style, it lives up to its name but is not so overpowering that it tastes like pine needles. A very solid and refreshing bitter.

22 oz bottle- appears to be nicely bottle conditioned- some nice yeast sediment on the bottom of the bottle. Must be pretty fresh- my parents just bought this at the brewery a couple weeks ago. Pours a moslty clear medium amber with a nice large fluffy tight off white head and some great lace. Aroma is loaded with fresh english style hops- very tea like and nutty with floral hints and a touch of mint leaves- also some nice toasted and chocolate malt aromas for balance. Flavor is sharp and upfront with tons of tea and floral hops- Northdown is a great harsh bittering hop that works very well in this beer. This reminds me of some of the homebrewed bitters I used to make. Damn this was a tasty bitter. Well made.
