Commercial Description:
Bottled (pasteurised).
NOTE: Only ratings for the bottled version here. The cask version has a seperate entry.
Available in cask (described as "Cask Pilsner"), and in bottle ("Highland Pilsner"), this beer is a delicious straw-coloured session beer, dominated by crisp, fresh, citrus hop character from classic German "noble hops".
Brewed with a balance of best British Ale Malt and Lager Malt, this beer exhibits a pale straw colour. The aroma combines a zesty attack and an apricot fruitiness with the subtle floral hop notes of the Styrian Golding, Saaz and Hallertauer Hersbrucker hops.
Moderate levels of residual sweetness are balanced by a crisp, well-rounded bitterness to give a clean, refreshing mouthfeel in the best traditions of pilsners – pint after pint!

Very nice citrusy ale type lager. Low in ABV and not that like a pils but very nice nevertheless.

500 ml bottle. Golden body with a small, diminishing white head. Nice, light and fresh aroma of citric hops. Flavor is light malty, citric fruity, almost floral hoppy. A bit thin and watery body, still a nice flavor and fine aftertaste. A real thirst-quencher.

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a dense medium-sized foamy white head. Delicately sweet pale malty aroma with distinctive notes of citrus/lemon and woody also slightly herbal hops. Bitter flavour with a tinge of acidity, light but never flat bodied with a smooth carbonation. Dry hops character with fruity and woody elements, lingering into the dry, moderately bitter and fruity finish with a delicately grainy malty sweetness. Aromatic and very session-able. 02.XI.09

50cl dark brown bottle, label as pictured. Typical clear yellow golden colour with big, fluffy white head, good retention and plenty of lacing. Surprisingly heavy-bodied for a blonde, with thick mouth feel. No beer for wimps, this. Intense aroma of hops, with a fruity citrusy note. Why can’t Czech pilseners smell like that ... ? Hops feature strongly on the palate, too. There’s a refreshing dry, citrusy note to this beer that almost makes it appear a cross between lager and IPA styles. Medium bitterness, increasing as you’re downing the beer - with a mildly bitter, but very dry, straw-like finish and after taste. This should be a supremely sessionable pilsener, straightforward but characterful, and there’s no skunkiness here anywhere. Most agreeable.

Bottle. A clear, pale golden beer with a creamy, finger thick head. Citrusy, fruity hops with grapefruit does most of the aroma work, but some pale malts pushes from behind. It’s dry and grassy in the mouth, with citrusy hops on a malty background, producing a fine bitterness. Medium body and a bitter finsh. A nice and quenching beer that won’t raise eyebrows on a beer geek, but might surprise a lager guy. 090724
