larsga (2141), Oslo, Norway Jun 29, 2006 Thin white head quickly disappears. Body is hazy orange. Aroma is milky wheat with traces of citrus, some wheat, and maybe a little rubber. Taste is delicate lightly spicy citrus with light bitter milky aftertaste. Some light marzipan hovers in the background. Excellent! Refreshing, balanced, and incredibly delicate. One of the best weizens I’ve had. (0.33l bottle at Cardinal.) jerohen (1465), Bussum, Netherlands Jul 7, 2008 Bottled, from Vinmonopolet, Bergen. Cloudy yellow coloured, dying white head. Strong citrus aroma, some wheat. Sweet and sour flavour, citrus again. Refreshing wheat beer, and imho more a Belgian than a German way. Gr0ve (1088), Oslo, Norway Jul 1, 2006 330 ml bottle. Yellowish hazy white colour. Throws a tall coarse white head. Quite a bit of yeast in the bottle. Cloves, yeast and just a little hint of banana in the nose. Some citurs notes are also quite noticeable. From just the aroma this one could be mistaken for a witbier. Thick and soft wheaty mouthfeel. Mellow yeasty flavours. Low carbonation level for a hefe-weizen. This is a great wheat beer no doubt, and definitely the best Norwegian one that you can get your hands on. Sigmund (1928), Hafrsfjord, Norway Jul 7, 2006 330 ml bottle, Vinmonopolet. Typical hefeweizen appearance, cloudy golden colour, large head. Lovely h.w. aroma, cloves and ripe bananas abound, hints of leather, wood and ammonium. Soft flavour and mouthfeel, I want a litlle more "spritziness" from a h.w., but this is still a drinkable beer. Too expensive compared to other h.w.s available in Norway. rlgk (3014), Motala, Sweden Sep 18, 2006 Hazy yellow, white head. Malty, fruity aroma, pars, sweet appels and peach. Wheat flavor, fruity, some grain, some hops in the finish.
