Commercial Description:
Rost (pronounced Roast) is a German word for Amber. Our Amber gets its coppery color from Pilsner. Munich and Caramel malts. Its rich malty sweetness is perfectly balanced by a slight hop finish and creamy head. O.G. 12.5 Plato 5.0% ABV

12oz bottle pous a golden brown. Toasted sweet malts, grain, and something funky in the aroma. Thin but the carbonation is creamy smooth. Toasted malt flavors that become really off at the finish with a sour dirty note. not good.

Bottle. Hazy copper/amber color, tuns, and tuns of fluffy white head, too much. Aroma of faint hops and sour fruit.Flavor is slightly grassy with some fruit, maybe apple or tart cherries, a touch of sweeter malt. Crisp finish thin body, acceptable mouthfeel. Drinkable

12oz bottle. Funky beer! Taste like it was spoiled or something, somewhat like vinegar. Not nice. Poured an amber color small head. Taste is infected! Just able to finish drinking it.

Pours amber with a fully receding off-white head. Aroma of apples, cherries, light caramel. Taste is sour, light caramel and graininess. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. Most likely infected judging from my experience and other ratings.

I was expecting some kind of amber ale and when I tasted this I was pleasantly surprised by it’s enjoyability. The smell is an off beery aroma. The look of this is somewhat like cloudy iced tea. On the palate it provides an above average creamy carbonation. The taste is haylike and fun without any bitter unsavoriness. I find it rather likable with farmlike attributes. Overall almost pleasurable and even perhaps repeatable. Pleased to have sampled this brew.

I’m shocked how low the ratings are for this beer. To me its a great amber. Tasty carmel malt. Call me crazy, but I thought it was very, very tasty.

pours a medium amber color with a thin whitish head - moderate aroma of malt and lager-like characteristics (must, "cold", olive) but not bad. medium body but finishes slightly thin with a slightly medicinal taste as well, but not offensive in any way. drinkable - much better on draft at the brewery.

Appearance: Pours a clear, orangey-copper body with a thin, thin ring of bubbles. Smell: Aroma of a drizzle of caramel over a basket full of spoiled, sun-baked fruits. Taste: Suspiciously sour fruit flavors with only a meager amount of caramel within. Finishes tart, watery, and a bit acetic. Unless they were aiming for a bargain basement Flanders Red, then this beer is miles off course. Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Dear me. It seems that, more often than not, these Atwater beers just don’t survive their trip into the bottles.
